"CA VA ALLER"
PERSONAL PROJECT - DISNEY ART CHALLENGE CONTEST • 2024
ALL ASPECTS
"Ca va aller" (in english, "It's Going to Be Okay") is my submission for the Disney Art Challenge 2024. The theme, "Adolescence : So Many Emotions !" inspired me to depict adolescence from a more adult perspective.
In my illustration, I portrayed a young teenage girl overwhelmed by a whirlwind of emotion, each one different from the other, feeling completely powerless in the face of them, unsure of how to navigate them. This emotional storm is represented by "tangled threads" forming a sort of cocoon around her. Alongside her, I also wanted to depict an older character, someone who has reached their final transformation, their "imago". This figure gently reassures the adolescent, showing her the direction she should take. These tangled threads have now become a beautiful rainbow. This adult figure can represent the teenage girl in the future or a guiding presence, like a mother or an older sister. Each viewer is free to interpret it in their own way.
For me, as the artist, this piece symbolizes the transformation I have undergone. "It's Going to Be Okay" are the words I wish I could have said to my younger, more vulnerable self. I would have loved to show her that all these "emotional threads" can be transcended by giving them space and allowing time to pass. Time to grow, to emerge from the cocoon...
This is the first time I have fully completed an illustration project. Even though I love it, I have never been very skilled in digital illustration. Although I didn’t win the competition, I am proud of myself for taking a chance and improving my skills in 2D art.

• To carry a digital illustration project through to completion
• To overcome my blocks related to fear and perfectionism10
• Digital Painting ► Although I'm proud of the result, I'm not used to seeing a project through to the end, and I'm aware of my shortcomings in digital painting. In the future, I hope to keep practicing in order to improve in this art form.
