EMBOUCANATOR

GRADUATION MOVIE • 2023 / 2024

“Emboucanator” is the story of a bull man who flees his marriage, an ode to the Camargue (region in south of France) but above all my graduation movie. This year was a big challenge, but I am very proud of the result.

During this production, I did of the concept art of Culterrine, the tower as well as the beginnings of the horse motorcycle. I also did of the colorboard, the lookdev and the research of our artistic direction and how to transcribe it in 3D. I also did the artistic direction pipeline, which meant that I did the surfacing of practically all the props in the movie. I also created the environment for a majority of the scenes in the movie, I modeled all the vegetation and I also textured it. I did the lighting of the most complex sequences and I supervised the lighting of the other sequences. I created the rendering pipeline, very specific to our artistic direction, so I did the rendering parameters of the film and I rendered a majority of scenes and also supervised the rendering of the other sequences. Finally, I did the compositing of the most complex sequences.

During this production, I revealed myself to have a real leadership role. I had a lot of responsibilities and things to manage, finding B plans, solutions in the most critical moments. My team was able to rely on me, and I am proud to say that I now know how to direct a production and supervise other people.

To improve all my technical skills

• Environment ► I discovered a real passion for creating environments. However, not having enough knowledge, I think that my environments are not optimized or detailed enough. In the future, I plan to deepen my knowledge of environment creation in order to be able to create more complex, more detailed and more optimized ones

• Rendering ► Although the rendering of the film is very correct and I am at the origin of the complete rendering pipeline, I still lack optimization in terms of rendering. In the future, I plan to continue to deepen my knowledge in order to be able to best optimize my scenes during rendering.

• Lighting, Compositing and Surfacing ► I think I surpassed myself for this film and reached a professional level. Quite honestly, I don't know what I could have done better, other than adding even more details and thinking even more about "how and why" I place my lights here, I highlight this in compositing etc. In the future, I simply want to continue to improve in these three professions that I master very well, finally to be even stronger and more meticulous
