SCARLET WITCH
SCHOOL EXERCISE • 2021
“Scarlet Witch” is a 3rd year exercise. The theme of this exercise was “superheroes”. We had to choose a superhero, it didn't matter which one, and try to reproduce it and then put it on stage. I chose the superhero "Scarlet Witch" because I liked this character and her design.
This exercise was very interesting. I'm quite proud of my lighting, my staging as well as my compositing. On the other hand, I find that my sculpt is not very worked, especially in terms of muscles and proportions. I am still very happy with my final result, given that I find that with my lighting and my image composition I managed to "catch up" on my weaknesses in sculpting and modeling.
ALL ASPECTS
REFERENCES
• To do a lighting and a compositing highlighting my subject and allowing me to “hide” my technical weaknesses
• To create a fairly realistic character and to step out of my comfort zone
• Modeling & Sculpt ► It's not "ugly" in itself, but we feel very big weaknesses, particularly in terms of muscles and human proportions. In the future, I plan to work with more references in order to be able to make a more realistic sculpt and to better understand how the human body is made
• My Surfacing ► Even if I like the "latex" aspect given to the character's clothing, it is clear that my surfacing is not very successful, particularly on the skin level. I didn't put enough details; the character seems too smooth, too “figurine”. In the future, this is an error that I will not reproduce, particularly because I think that a good surfacing could have even more "created an illusion" in terms of the realism of the character
