SEASONS

SCHOOL EXERCISE • 2022

LAYOUT / LIGHTING

“Seasons” is a 4th year Layout and Lighting exercise. Just like my other two exercises "Pixar Kitchen" and "Barbershop", the goal of this one was to place two cameras in a scene and render two images on the theme of the 4 seasons. Even though this exercise did not require video rendering, we also had to choose at what time of day our scene took place.

Just like my previous exercises, I loved this exercise. It was the last one we had to do and it confirmed my desire to become a Lighting Artist (or Layout Artist, because I love camera placement). On the other hand, unlike the other two, I don't think I succeeded as well. But I'm still happy with the result and the pleasure I had in making it.

SUMMER

To improve my lighting skills

To improve my layout skills

To develop my view of light

To add my personal artistic touch and improve my sense of detail (for example: the light coming out of the window)

• Lighting ► As said above, I'm not sure I succeeded in this exercise as well as the previous ones. I think it's because the scene takes place outside. In the future, I plan to improve my view on outdoor lighting and produce more in order to be able to make the best lighting possible

• Layout ► I'm not entirely convinced of my layout, or rather my focal length, on certain shots. In the future, I will take the time to position my camera better and think more seriously about why and how to use the focal length

WHAT CAN I IMPROVE IN MY FUTURE PROJECTS ?
